  • Dave Williamson (Fully Loaded Tour, Meat Dave Podcast)
  • Lafayette Comedy presents comedian Dave Williamson on Friday, May 10th at Club 337 inside the Doubletree Hotel.Tickets are $20 in advance, ($25 at the door day of show).Doors 8:00 p.m., Show 8:30 p.m.Dave tours heavily, both headlining his own shows and as the supporting act on several of Bert Kreischer’s tours over the past few years, including the inaugural Fully Loaded Comedy Tour, the Hot Summer Nights tour, & the Berty Boy Relapse Tour. Those included stops at legendary venues like Red Rocks, The Greek, & The Grand Ol’ Opry. His second album, “Trying My Hardest” was released by Stand Up! Records and reached #1 in the iTunes Charts for Comedy. He is obsessed with BBQ, and hosts the popular podcast “Meat Dave” which is appropriate since Dave is a storyteller that will remind you of that one dad who holds court on football Sunday while standing over a hot grill with a cold beer. He also co-hosts “The Mermen Podcast” with fellow comedian & natural waterman Forrest Shaw.Shortly after being named “Best Comedian in Miami” by the Miami New Times, Dave packed up his family in a 25-foot travel trailer. They traveled with him while he performed all over North America, eventually settling in Los Angeles after 18 months of touring. This trip was documented in a series of shorts on Nickelodeon. He has excelled in almost every domestic Comedy Festival, making the finals or "Best of The Fest" in the World Series of Comedy, Boston Comedy Festival, San Francisco Comedy Competition, Big Sky Comedy Festival, the SLO Comedy Festival, and several others.

At 19 his plans to join the army were foiled by an arrest. By 21 he moved from his hometown of Opelika, AL to Charleston SC. On the coast, Slay worked as a waiter and pesticide salesman [dustyslay.com] for over a decade while moonlighting as an obscure, often drunk, open-mic comedian. It wasn’t until he quit drinking in 2012 that he started to take comedy and his unique talent for telling jokes seriously. His smooth baritone voice and relatable stories about growing up poor in a trailer park quickly made him a local Charleston favorite. After being voted Best Local Comedian and winning the Charleston Stand Up Comedy Competition both two years in a row, his well-intentioned friends and colleagues encouraged Slay to move to LA and take a shot at the big time. While this may have been sound advice for the average aspiring artist, Dusty wanted to try to make it in comedy on his own terms: by living in the South, without getting too far away from the home that grounded him.Today, Slay has close to half a million TikTok followers, Four Late Night appearances, a Comedy Central set, and a Netflix Half Hour Special under his belt. He enjoys selling out comedy clubs across America on weekends, then chills out at home in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife Hannah and daughter Daisy. He’s even a regular at the legendary Grand Ole Opry, sharing the stage with the musicians he grew up loving.
